January 11, 2012 - Christmas Handprint Ornament

I found several variations of this idea on pinterest and google. I chose to do mine after christmas this year. I found these 4 black ornaments on sale at Hobby Lobby for $7.99 with 90% off! That's awesome!

I attempted with my oldest son first. We used his favorite color and painted his hand.

After several tries, (on plastic you can use wetones to clean off the paint to try again) we got this!

On the very back, I put his name, age, and his favorites.
Next week, I will attempt the other two.

Jan 9, 2012- Coupons!

Finally a place to do coupons for Dummies. lol. I started buying my daily newspaper and would cut coupons. I would leave them at home, they would expire before I got to them, I would just plain forget about them. I could not get the handle on them. This site gives you the how-to to help get you started with tips and tricks you probably would never had thought of!

Thank you so much!!!

Jan 1, 2012 - Playroom

So I have set up a playroom for my children and the organization wasn't great. So they manage to get into all the boxes and throw all thier toys around. So I'm trying to figure out a better way to set it up. I've been looking at Pininterest and google at playrooms to get ideas.

I collect animal prints for each child so we decorated the playroom accordingly.

That is on one of my doors.  With their names in their prints:

I couldn't find a material or curtain I liked so, I bought a green sheet and sewed the end over to make a curtain.
Then on each wall, I put the border up of the different animal prints. Above is Zebra, below is the tiger and giraffe walls.

Jan 5, 2012- Cricut!

My sister in law made it over today. I pulled out the cricut to start getting my valentine crafts underway.
I started going through craft blogs and fell in love with Serving Pink Lemonade. She had a cute idea about a Heart attack for her boys. She spent all night cutting out her hearts, I don't have that much energy sick so yay cricut!

My oldest son loves helping me pick out papers, and pressing the buttons on the cricut for me. So its a great time. She got to play with it and loved it too. I got about 1/10th of the hearts I wanted done, because I stopped that and focused on helping him make a homemade card for Daddy for valentines day.

When I finally get all the hearts cut out and pasted up, I will post another blog.

Happy New Year

2012.

Happy New Year.

Our previous day was spent with my husbands family celebrating Christmas. After the gift exchange, we packed up our children and headed back home.

Last night, we spent our new years eve at home. The children weren't feeling good and I was suffering from allergies. My mom came over, his father and sister came by. The children watched Diego and we played monopoly. At midnight, we watched the fireworks go off, gave kisses, and wished in the new year.

Lol. My hubby just caught me on here.

It's a new year, so I thought I would keep track of our lives, my crafts, and the crazy ups and downs of the silent ranks.

New Years Resolutions:

Wear heels more often
Lose weight/ then tone
read 50 novels

What would I like to accomplish this year?
1. Get myself back. After 4 1/2 years of marriage and 3 children I let my body, brain, and hobbies go. So I would like to get back in shape. At 5 ft - 163lbs. isn't healthy.
2. We are turning the other half of the laundry room into my craft room, so maybe I can keep track of everything I have wanted to do, promised to do, and worst of all - started to do and never finished.
3. Cooking. I want to get better. I have never made the same lasagna exact last year. I learned how to make a lot of items by scratch (pumpkin pie, apple pie, fried pickles, etc.) and I want to do more, especially for and with the kids.
4. Scheduling. I want to get the children on a regular schedule. My oldest should start pre-k in the fall and I need a better schedule for all of them then what we have. I want to start homeschooling the younger ones better than what I have.
5. Deployment. I am a part of the Marine Corps silent ranks. I've been through one Afghan deployment. It wasn't fun. It was very stressful, I had one child and was pregnant, gave birth and raised both boys while he was gone. Now we're in our own house, I have 3 children, and he'll be gone longer. It wont be easy, but I have to get through it. I have to make sure that the children remember him and keep them in the right frame of mind during this deployment.

Today, we slept in. After waking up late and playing on facebook. I started a poking war with all of my friends. I got the phone call saying my grandmother had fallen at church. She ended up slipping while walking in the parking lot and breaking her nose. = ( We headed over there as planned for our family New Years potluck. The kids played pretty quietly while we were there. When they started getting rowdy, we packed up and came home.

I got on here to start this.
So Hello, and thank you for reading.
